In my fifth year with Sobolak International I participated the Post-Diploma-Training in Canada. I went to Toronto for two weeks to visit our partner agents The MiGroup and Armstrong International.
My first week was spent with The MiGroup and I was more than impressed with their verity in services in the Relocation sector. I was able to spend some time in each of their departments, starting with Client Services, the Relocation and Marketing Team as well as the Accounting and Operations department. I even had the chance to accompany a survey for one of our clients and represent our company at sight.
In my second week I stayed with Armstrong International to get a basic understanding of how their company is organized. They took me to a tour of the United Van Lines, two surveys and the customs office. As I’m a move coordinator it was very informative to get to know the different operation methods and in particular the regulations for customs clearance in Canada.
Aside from getting to know both companies, I was treated by the MiGroup to visit the CN Tower and eating at the restaurant 360 with its breathtaking sight over Toronto.
With Armstong International I enjoyed an entertaining show cooking at a teriyaki grill and went bowling to end my stay with a rememberable evening.
The exchange program gave me the opportunity to meet people I communicate regularly with, face to face and gave me a better understanding of how both agents are organized and function.
I had two fantastic weeks in Canada and surely won’t forget them as both partner agents took incredible good care of me.
